About

Hi and welcome to my blog! I’m Rachel, a food systems writer, recipe developer, and culinary-cultural educator exploring how traditional cooking, sustainability, and storytelling shape the way we eat.
My passion for food systems comes from my background as a geographer, my desire to understand how deeply food has shaped our cultures, and my absolute love to meet around the table for a feast. I see food as a vector for cultural memory, community power, and resilience and hope everyone could understand that feeding ourselves should be a meaningful and joyful act.
I create and publish seasonal, from-scratch recipes inspired by ancestral foodways, local ingredients, and my own Swiss-Portuguese roots. Here, you’ll find recipes, essays, and resources that honor the past while imagining a more connected, sustainable food future.
